The long-anticipated wait is nearly over—the Mote Science Education Aquarium (Mote SEA) is set to open this October, marking a major milestone for Sarasota and the entire Suncoast community.

Spanning more than 110,000 square feet, Mote SEA is not just an aquarium—it’s a world-class destination designed to inspire, educate, and connect people of all ages to the wonders of our oceans. Located at the “nexus” of Sarasota and Manatee counties near Nathan Benderson Park and University Town Center, the new facility is strategically positioned to welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors annually, doubling the reach of its former City Island location.

Guests will be immersed in three floors of dynamic exhibits, each designed to bring the ocean to life:

• Massive Viewing Windows with breathtaking perspectives of sharks, stingrays, manatees, and sea turtles.
