The Path to Sustainable and Resilient Home Construction
Jonas Yoder began his career in the home-building industry at a very young age. At 14, he started an apprenticeship at a family member's business, where he learned essential construction skills such as tile and flooring installation, framing, trim work, and masonry. This early experience laid the foundation for his future success.
At 18, Jonas embarked on his first independent project: building a custom home for a young couple in Sarasota. Utilizing the skills he had acquired, he undertook all the work himself. His dedication was further demonstrated as he continued to assist the couple with remodeling and modernizing their home over the years.
Jonas's dedication to quality and versatility is a personal characteristic and a cornerstone of Jonas Yoder Custom Homes, a family-run business. His sons, Shane and Travis, have joined the company and are crucial in project management and developing new homes' pricing, contracts, and specifications. Their involvement ensures that Jonas Yoder Custom Homes maintains a personal touch and a strong commitment to excellence, providing clients with high-quality standards.
Jonas Yoder Custom Homes is a home builder and a leading innovator in the industry. The company is dedicated to replacing traditional building materials with faster, more durable, and energy-efficient alternatives. They utilize Structural Concrete Insulated Panels (SCIP) to create their new product, custom-designed 'Super Shell' buildings, which they offer alongside traditional building techniques. This innovative approach, reflecting their forward-thinking strategies, is set to revolutionize the future of home construction. It offers excellent wind resistance, capable of withstanding winds over 200 mph, providing homeowners with peace of mind.
Seven years ago, my husband Vince and I met Jonas while interviewing builders to construct our home in Sarasota. After meeting him and seeing his work in the neighborhood, we immediately knew he was the one. As a real estate professional, I have continued working alongside Jonas on the construction of incredible new home projects, including my listings at 1515 Hillview Drive, 2317 Rose Street, and 1534 Harbor Place.
When asked about his favorite house style, he responded, "The Modern Meets Farmhouse. Its contemporary design has broad appeal, and its timeless style will likely always be relevant."
"Our work is always evolving. We construct 12 - 15 homes a year. Currently, two of our homes are Super-Shell projects. We are moving toward greater energy efficiency and increased durability with growth over the next decade; our goal is to build homes that will last not just 50 but 100 years or more."
