Nonstop Flights to Miami Starting November 3, 2025
Beginning November 3, 2025, American Airlines will launch daily nonstop service from SRQ to Miami International Airport (MIA). This will be the airline's sixth nonstop route from Sarasota, adding to flights to destinations such as Charlotte, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Chicago. This route enhances access to South Florida and international flights via Miami, making it ideal for both business and leisure travelers.
New Leadership: Paul Hoback Jr.
On October 19, 2025, Paul Hoback Jr. will become the new President and CEO of SRQ, bringing over 25 years of experience in airport leadership. He succeeds Rick Piccolo, who has led SRQ for over 30 years, transforming it into a top-performing airport. Under his leadership, SRQ recently completed a $100 million terminal expansion and welcomed over 4.2 million passengers in 2024.
