University Town Center (UTC), one of Sarasota's rapidly growing dining destinations, will welcome two acclaimed Tampa-based restaurants in early 2026. Olivia and On Swann, created by award-winning restaurateur Chris Ponte, will open side by side in UTC's West District, enhancing the area's vibrant culinary scene.
Chef Chris Ponte's long-awaited expansion to Sarasota is now a reality. His family venture, Olivia, will be located on North Cattlemen Road, directly across from Ford's Garage. In partnership with his longtime collaborator Chris Arreola, a native of Sarasota, Chef Ponte will also introduce On Swann, providing another exciting dining option to the expanding culinary landscape.
OLIVIA is a modern trattoria experience featuring both northern and southern Italian cuisine. Enjoy an urban-chic ambiance, a wine vault, and a glass-enclosed dough-making room where fresh pizza, pasta, and mozzarella are crafted. Chef Ponte named the original Olivia after his daughter, which opened in South Tampa in 2019. A second location recently opened in St. Petersburg, and the UTC location will be the third.
ON SWANN will showcase contemporary American cuisine, emphasizing seasonal ingredients and providing a casual yet sophisticated atmosphere. Signature dishes include lamb meatballs, hot chicken tenders, blackened prime ribeye, and craft cocktails.
